Good News for SVR

The 16-mile Kidderminster-Bridgnorth steam heritage line carried 18,273 passengers in April – 4,000 ahead of budget – showing a significant improvement of almost 28%.

The railway has set its sights firmly on involving family audiences in its activities, by promoting a series of new events in 2011, including an interactive children’s event involving Postman Pat and his trusty Cat. Despite the nation’s absorption in the Royal Wedding, more than 600 visitors preferred the SVR experience to a day watching TV or attending one of the many street parties in the area.

The railway turns the clocks back to the 1940’s in on June 25th- 26th with a light-hearted journey back to wartime Britain. Costumed re-enactors, 1940’s displays, fashion shows and a battle are just a few of the events planned, with cast members from hit TV comedy ‘Allo Allo’ making an appearance throughout the weekend.
