Inspired to write

Author Jo Jackson, from near Much Wenlock, has been celebrating the publication of her second novel Beyond the Margin in October. The book, set in Ireland and Shropshire, follows the lives of Joe and Nuala as they each battle with their own demons on the edge of society. Jo describes it as “a contemporary literary novel about a compelling story of darkness and light, trauma, loss and second chances”.

Abandoned at five years old, Nuala learns that to survive you must take charge of your own destiny and learn not to care. Joe, fighting drug addiction, is on a faltering search for meaningful relationships.

Jo was a nurse and midwife before becoming a family psychotherapist and worked with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Their courage and stories were the inspiration behind the characters of her book. Much Wenlock Library are hosting a book signing session on Saturday 9 November from 9.30am to 1pm where Jo will be signing copies of her book. Email jojackson589@gmail.com for more details.
