Market for vegans

With more and more people choosing to eliminate or cut down on animal products such as eggs and dairy products, an event taking place in Wellington this winter welcomes anyone who’s curious about the vegan lifestyle – and vegan food. The Vegan Fair takes place at Wellington Market from 9am until 4.30pm on Saturday 10 November and is free to enter. Organiser Michelle D’Arcy, who runs the Vegan Hub at the market explains, “There will be goodie bags for the first 100 people to arrive, and there’s also a competition for children to take part in.”

The market is a joint project between Wellington Market and Shropshire Veggies and Vegans and will feature stallholders from the market such as Chocolate Shack and Fudge Box, as well as Shropshire Wellbeing Hypnotherapy, and there will be hot food stalls, snacks, cakes and sweets. The Vegan Hub started in May and opens from 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursday to Saturday, along with other market stalls. Michelle says, “It’s going well, with more and more regulars coming in, as well as local people asking for advice. We don’t just have Wellington people though – we have customers from all over the county who want to buy our low priced items and support the group.”
