Two iron-focused county organisations have joined forces to forge a partnership they hope will stand the test of time. The British Ironworks and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums have partnered up to offer visitor packages for those wanting to make the most of their visit to the county.

Clive Knowles of the British Ironworks says, “We’ve long admired the Ironbridge Gorge Museums for their history, hard work and continued efforts to make their site a truly amazing place to visit. Seeing them as the matriarch of iron, we were thrilled when the discussion of a partnership between us turned into an iron-strong reality. This newfound partnership will offer a fantastic package for group visitors whereby they get the unique chance to visit both sides in Shropshire in one day.

“We’re so incredibly excited about this partnership as it will be the first tourism partnership that illustrates how iron has changed all our lives for the better and how its uses have changed across the ages.”
