Wenlock Poetry Festival line up

Wenlock Poetry Festival will be welcoming friends old and new to its 2015 line up as the very best of contemporary poetry comes to Shropshire with headline performances from Dame Carol Ann Duffy, Michael Rosen, Imtiaz Dharker and Kei Miller.

MW poetryHappy festival-goer!Performing for the first time will be Hollie McNish, Maurice Riordan, Kathleen Jamie, Jonathan Edwards, and poetry blogging sensation Anthony Wilson.

There’ll also be some old friends such as Much Wenlock’s very own Paul Evans who will be delivering the festival lecture on Shropshire writer, Mary Webb. In a first for the festival this year, Ludlow’s Jean Atkin will be ‘poet in residence’.

Jean will be, amongst other things, composing poetry live at the festival on her old Imperial typewriter – subject to ribbon!

With workshops and master classes, poetry breakfasts and working lunches, Desert Island Poems and Poems n’Pints, Much Wenlock really will come alive with poetry and all are catered for, including children, as Michael Rosen headlines on Saturday.

Festival Founder Anna Dreda says, “2015 looks set to be our best and most exciting festival to date in only five years we have established ourselves on the national poetry stage with many poets keen to come not only to the festival, but to experience the charm and warmth of Much Wenlock.” 24 – 26 April please visit www.wenlockpoetryfestival.org for further details and booking.
