Wicked foot-tapping fun…

When the show was opened by Dame Dolly, or ‘DD…Double D’ as she likes to call herself, we knew we were in for a treat. Played by Simon Howe, DD’s slapstick comedy kept children and adults giggling throughout, and on the way home too! Add to this the energetic dancing, music (thanks Uncle Phil!), singing and the tale of Snow White and her prince, and you have a recipe for a fabulous family pantomime.

The hilarious antics of ‘DD’ and her son Muddles were a light-hearted contrast to the dramatic darkness of the evil Queen played by Nicole Faraday of Bad Girls, determined to stop Snow White in her tracks and claim the prince for herself. Thankfully, though, with some help from a fairy and seven little friends, goodness saved the day! Hurrah!

The cast, including Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards as the Prince and Amy Reader making her debut in Telford as Snow White, are supported by an amazing team of youth dancers and very talented performers – and you can see they’ve really pulled out all the stops to give a panto to really get you in the festive spirit.

And of course no panto would be complete without a great dollop of audience participation… oh yes it would… oh no it wouldn’t! There was plenty for the kids to shout about; whether it was ‘HI MUDDLES’, ‘IT’S BEHIND YOU!’ or willing Snow White not to eat the dreaded apple, kids and adults alike were in fine voice, and on their feet playing air guitar in parts (you had to be there)…

…and be there you must as the show runs until 3 Jan, finishing with a special relaxed performance for children and adults who may not be comfortable in traditional theatre surrounding, while there will be a special sign language performance for hard of hearing on 30 December – meaning this panto really has something for everyone.
