Back to the eighties…

Remember parachute pants, shoulder pads, rara skirts and big hair? That’ll be the 1980s… and that decade’s music is coming back to the county with a bang. On 27 May, Shrewsbury’s Quarry is the venue for the family-friendly Let’s Rock Shrewsbury festival, featuring many of the biggest names in 80s music. Confirmed artists include Billy Ocean, ABC, Tony Hadley, Heaven 17, Nick Heyward, Nik Kershaw, T’Pau and Altered Images. Aimed at the whole family, the event offers are loads of free things for children to do, including circus workshops with the Bigtopmania Circus. There will be plenty of bars and food stalls, too.

Gates open at 10am, with music from midday and the event ends at 10:30pm. For further details, visit letsrockshrewsbury.com. Tickets are also available from Theatre Severn.
