The nature and art of basketry

Eleven talented Shropshire artists have come together with the Coracle Trust to showcase the rich and diverse heritage of basketry in the area.

This immersive exhibition combines natural fibres, wood and willow and shows how different materials can be used in innovative ways to create both beautiful forms and functional items. A variety of workshops and demonstrations will be taking place as well as visits to the community willow beds. There will be an opportunity to meet the artists and visit a shop selling unique hand crafted gifts.  This is an opportunity to witness the artistry and skill of exceptional makers. The exhibition will run from November 8 to 17, daily 10am-4pm at Footprint Gallery, Fusion, Jackfield Tile Museum.
