Shrewsbury Town harbours Aspirations

There has been much activity around a vacated office unit in the parking area at Shrewsbury Town’s stadium recently.

That’s because they have been taken over by Aspirations, the family-run company whose Willow Lodge day centre in Shrewsbury delivers education, entertainment and care for young adults with mental and physical difficulties. They have acquired the offices that once housed the football club’s community project, the Shrewsbury Town Foundation

The new learning centre, which will be called Cherry Lodge – The Farm, is to be established on a 17 acre site in the countryside outside Shrewsbury.

Jamie Edwards, CEO of Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation, says, “It is great to see our former Community Hub building being put to good use by Aspirations. We hope it will provide the same platform it did for the Foundation in supporting the local community.”

Sarah Ritchie , Owner of Aspirations, adds, “At Cherry Lodge we will continue the emphasis on fun learning and enjoyment in a safe environment that has proved successful at Willow Lodge but with addition of a rural location and many more outdoor, ‘green’ activities.”

CAPTION: The 2,500 square ft unit currently being dismantled at Shrewsbury Town FC to  become a ‘haven in the countryside’ for young adults with learning difficulties.
