Angels in America

The National Theatre Live programme will present a two-part drama ‘Angels in America’ which will be screened at The Edge, Much Wenlock. The play takes us back to America in the mid-1980s, in the midst of the AIDS crisis and a conservative Reagan administration, and sees New Yorkers grapple with life and death, love and sex, heaven and hell. Part one ‘Millennium Approaches’ will be screened on Thursday 20 July and part two, ‘Perestroika’, will be broadcast live a week later on Thursday 27 July. This new staging of Tony Kushner’s multi-award winning two-part play is directed by Olivier and Tony award winning director Marianne Elliott (‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ and ‘War Horse’). Shows start at 7pm and tickets are £11/£12 from edgeartscentre.com or call 0333 666 3366.
