Fordhall’s growing scope

Fordhall Organic Farm in Market Drayton have announced a Big Lottery Awards for All grant of £10,000. This injection of funds will support the work of Fordhall’s Care Farm, enabling the erection of a new polytunnel, a new greenwood working workshop and some much-needed kitchen equipment for the new straw bale bunkhouse.

Care Farm manager Bex Syrett says, “Our service providing meaningful placements for adults with learning disabilities will now be able to offer even more creative activities to those who attend. People already attending were instrumental in putting the bid together so you can imagine how pleased they were to hear we’d been successful.”

The farm is also expanding its educational offering to teachers and educators, with sessions offered to schools running through summer and on into winter. Fordhall is England’s first community-owned farm and has been organic for over 65 years.  To find out more, visit fordhallfarm.com.
