Club welcome Paralympian

Bridgnorth Athletic Club held its annual awards evening at the Down Inn on Friday 30 November, where over 130 athletes and parents gathered. The guest speaker was Paralympian gold medallist Mickey Bushell of Telford, who gave an inspirational speech and then took part in a Q&A session. He also presented certificates and trophies to successful athletes.

The main award winners were Abbie Cottam, Lucy Elcock, Lucie Poulter, Lilly Goulden, Grace Haigh, Lucia Rooney, Shana Stewardson, Daisy Stanyon, Archie Wickens, Dan Wood, Henry Gibbons, Jacob McLoughlin, Tom George, Max Cattle and Charlie Carvell.

Later on, the final fixture of the Shropshire Cross League took place on Sunday 2 December at Much Wenlock where Bridgnorth were aiming to retain their Boys’ and Overall Club Titles plus several age group titles. Over 250 athletes from 15 clubs competed; however, nobody could stop Bridgnorth AC athletes retaining the Club and Boys’ titles.
