Diamond date for Bridgnorth Walk!

The Bridgnorth Sponsored Walk will be held on a new date this year to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Usually held on the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May, this year’s event takes place on June 4 to coincide with the Jubilee celebrations.

Entries are invited now for the 2012 walk, which last year raised more than £120,000 for various charities.

Despite the new date, arrangements will be more or less the same as for previous years. The senior walk will start at 10am from High Street and the route will cover the 22 miles out to the top of Brown Clee and back.

The junior walk, for 10 to13 year olds, will start at 11am from Ditton Priors Village Hall and take participants to the top of the hill and back to Ditton, a total distance of seven miles.

As the walk coincides with the Diamond Jubilee, commemorative medals will be presented to every entrant. Check the walk’s brand new website, www.bridgnorthwalk.org, which incorporates detailed information.
