Arriving at Henry Tudor House on Sunday 17 September is Fridolijn (pronounced ‘Freedo-line’). The Dutch performer’s recorded music blurs the boundaries between cinematic folk, jazz, electronica, and broken beats, which blend to produce compellingly beautiful and haunting songs. The debut album of the previous band she led, Finn Silver, topped the charts in Holland and Japan, and her impressive CV includes playing the prestigious North Sea Jazz Festival, while iTunes hailed her New Jazz Artist of the Year. Although she has been likened to Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell and Massive Attack, Fridolijn is a singular voice with her own, very compelling, artistic vision. This intimate performance is a rare chance to witness Fridolijn’s musical mastery as she plays works from her album ‘Catching Currents’ along with others.
