Harvest home

To mark the year’s most bountiful season, an event at Black Country Living Museum on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October will explore old harvest customs. Discover traditional recipes and superstitions, find out about wartime rationing, and learn how careful household management allowed impoverished cooks to feed their families. You can buy tasty preserves for your larder and plant a seed to grow at home. On Sunday, visit the Chapel for an old-fashioned harvest service.

The Living Museum is open from 10am until 5pm both days – visit bclm.co.uk for full details.
