Park makes the grade

Green Flag

Severn Valley Country Park, managed by Shropshire Council, has maintained its place amongst the top parks in the UK for a record-breaking 13th consecutive year. The park has once again been awarded the Green Flag Award, which recognises the best parks and green spaces in the country.

Severn Valley Country Park boasts a teashop and visitor centre, a natural play area, way-marked walking and cycling routes and an orienteering trail, and offers a huge range of events and workshops for all.

Cllr Dave Tremellen (Highley) says, “The heritage and natural beauty of this part of Shropshire is a big draw for tourists as well as being a fantastic asset for local people. Severn Valley Country Park is a wonderful gateway into this wider landscape and deserves this national recognition.”
