Top trio heading for Newport

Newport Music Club will present a concert by the Kassia Trio. Venue is Cosy Hall in Water Lane at 7pm.

The Kassia Trio comprises Chloe Percy-Smith, an orchestral saxophonist who has played with the CBSO; Emma Jones, principal saxophonist with the central band of the RAF and pianist Amy Bladon, a prize-winning accompanist and teacher.

Exploring a wide repertoire, Kassia Trio’s aim is to keep classical music accessible, as well as helping to promote the saxophone. Extending from modern pieces to classical transcriptions alongside lighter well-known musical favourites, their evening programme will range from Max Bruch to George Gershwin, with much in between.
