Zip, zip and away…

Zipwire 1 - team

A group of thrill-seekers zip-wired 500 feet in the air over Penrhyn Quarry in Bangor for a local good charity, Jayne Sargent Foundation, which supports Telford people affected by cancer. The group took part in the challenge in October, riding Europe’s longest wire and the world’s fastest to reach speeds of 119mph.

Samantha Turner, David Evans and Alison Smith from Telford; Sara Bennett, Freddy Mason-Woodhouse and Kyan Bennett from Bridgnorth; and Paul and Julie Burgoyne from Walsall were the brave jumpers raising funds. Charity trustee Sara Bennett explained, “We’re thrilled to take part in the challenge which has raised over £800 to help provide support for anyone dealing with cancer and their loved ones.”

The group offers regular meet-ups and support, with health professionals attending to answer questions. To find out more, visit www.jaynesargentfoundation.org.uk or call 01952 505059.
