Award-winning quartet to play in Shropshire

An award-winning classical music quartet will perform in Shrewsbury on April 4.

The Carducci Quartet (pictured) is internationally acclaimed as one of the most accomplished and versatile ensembles of today.

The concert at St Alkmund’s Church at 7.30pm is part of the Shropshire Music Trust programme. It will feature two of the most popular chamber works, Schubert’s Octet in F Major, D. 803 and Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K581.

Founded in 1997, the ensemble has won prizes at numerous international competitions, including the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and Finland’s Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition.

The quartet will be joined in Shrewsbury by Julian Bliss, one of the world’s finest clarinettists, excelling as a concerto soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, jazz artist, and masterclass leader.
