Go the Shropshire Way

The Shropshire Way 80k Festival is a mass participation challenge hike taking in some of the finest parts of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. New for this year are three more routes joining the mighty 80k: the 40k Mammathon, Tusker’s 10k and a 3.5k Fun Run.

The event is on the weekend of 6 April, and the aim for those undertaking the full-length route is to complete it in under 24 hours – the record is just over 10 hours! The route, which starts and finishes at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, takes participants through the very best of Shropshire’s stunning landscape and charming market towns, and some of the pit stops include the chance to sample Shropshire fare. Wend your way up Ragleth Hill and through Church Stretton before tackling the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones and heading to Churchtown via the Kerry ridgeway and Offa’s Dyke.

Fees range from £5 for the Fun Run to £40 for the full route and booking is essential – call 01588 676060 or email info@shropshirehillsdiscoverycentre.co.uk to book your place.
