Christmas at St Chad’s

Start celebrating the festive season at the beautiful St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury with a performance of Bach’s masterpiece, his ‘Christmas Oratorio’ on Saturday 7 December at 7.30pm.

The Phoenix Singers will be joined by the Phoenix Orchestra including trumpets and drums used to full effect, led by Clare Horgan along with experienced soloists Hannah Frazer-Mackenzie, Imogen Garner, Tim Kennedy and Themba Mvula.

Conductor Richard Walker said, “We last performed this work in 2015, and it sold out! This year we intend to do it justice with a glorious, polished performance from our choir, orchestra and a dazzling line-up of soloists, drawn from around the UK, who have all sung with the choir before.”

Tickets for the Christmas Oratorio are £14 (U18s free) and can purchased online from phoenixsingersshrewsbury.co.uk or trybooking.com/uk/. For more details, call 01939 291467; tickets will also be available on the door.
