Ludlow’s virtual 10k

Organisers of an annual 10k have created a virtual experience to replace the event planned in July.

Ludlow 10 – a 10k race through the medieval streets of the town attracted nearly 400 run last years and this would have been the 4th year. The event run by BeEndurance will now allow runners to compete virtually over the weekend Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July.

Matt Green told us, “We were devastated to have to cancel as we have built a loyal following over the last few years. More than ever people need positive goals to work towards, so we created a virtual race where runners’ hard work can still be recognised. The beauty is that you can complete your 10km  anywhere – on roads, trails or even on a treadmill. All we ask is that competitors abide by government guidelines regarding travel, exercise, and social distancing. We see it as a great way to stay in shape while raising money for a worthy cause.”

The event is open to all and participants must register in advance. The cost is £10 per person and all profits will be donated to a local NHS charity. Coaching plans will be provided, and competitors will be asked to use sport timing software to track their run so that results can be collated and prizes awarded.
