Apprenticeships on show

With apprenticeships a hot topic among young people and businesses, a show that’s taking place at Telford’s International Centre on Thursday 7 March will give both an opportunity to find out more. Taking place for the fourth consecutive year, the event is supported by Telford & Wrekin Council, the University of Wolverhampton, the British Army, the Express & Star and the Careers and Enterprise Company and runs from noon to 7.30pm.

Telford and Wrekin Council’s Kim Hodgetts says, “In 2018 we welcomed over 3,700 visitors and more than 70 exhibitors including employers, universities, colleges, training providers and advice and support organisations.

“The show is the largest of its kind in the area and offers visitors a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the wide range of careers now available through apprenticeships, the local companies offering the positions, and the training providers that will be supporting the training. There will be opportunities to have a go at tasks and activities in which employers and training providers are offering roles, and you’ll be able to speak to people who are doing the jobs now.”
