A New Flame

With more than 30 Top 40 singles and several of the best-selling albums of the last four decades to choose from, ‘A New Flame’ brings the music of Simply Red memorably to life. “David Duckmanton’s voice is so similar to Mick Hucknall it was an obvious choice to build a theatre show around Simply Red’s many hits,” said guitarist and producer Paul Brittain who originally hails from Highley and attended Oldbury Wells School before pursuing a career in music and film in London. Together with keyboard player Adam Day, David and Paul have recorded for major record labels and songwriters and performed live shows worldwide with named acts. They are joined for this performance by nine professional musicians including a horn section and backing vocals.
The show is at Theatre on The Steps on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 July; call 01746 766477 or see anewflame.info.
