Broseley’s Birchmeadow is welcoming back three very different acts this autumn, with Wild Willy Barrett’s French Connection appearing first on Saturday 23 September. The last time this band visited, they had the audience dancing in the aisles thanks to full-on fiddle, banjo and Irish pipes interspersed with haunting vocals, cello and guitar – plus plenty of Gallic bonhomie.
Next up are Fordante, who on Friday 29 September present a concert of classical and film favourites including tunes from Bolero and Madame Butterfly, set to stunning projected visuals and lighting.
Finally, Yorkshire lasses O’Hooley and Tidow return for a third time to promote their new album ‘Shadows’. They’re appearing on Saturday 28 October, delivering a varied style that takes in darkly haunting ballads and upbeat folk-pop – they were nominated again this year in the BBC2 Folk Awards.
