Volunteers provide defibrillator

parkrun

In the last edition of What’s What! we talked about public access defibrillators, or PADs, the lifesaving equipment which is often installed thanks to initiatives by local people, charities and organisations. There has been a public meeting in Broseley initiated by the local community first responders to discuss the installation of a PAD, which is great news for Broseley.

Elsewhere, the organisers of Telford’s Park Run undertook some energetic fundraising to provide a PAD for the Town Park. Chris Richards, who organises the popular event every weekend, was joined by Lawley running club chairman Andy Crozier to run marathons in Brighton, Blackpool, Milton Keynes and Liverpool, raising £2,350 to buy a PAD and a storage. Members of Bridgnorth running club regularly use the run at Telford, with the latest cohort of ‘couch to 5k’ beginners completing their first Telford Park Run last month.
