Exhibition showcases beauty of Shropshire

An artist from Much Wenlock is exhibiting one-of-a-kind and limited edition artwork, which celebrates Shropshire and its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This winter, Shelley Wingrove (pictured), of Little Black Mare will be exhibiting a collection at Ironbridge Fine Arts. The collection consists of hand cut lino prints, collagraphs and etchings, inspired by the breath-taking natural beauty that Shropshire has to offer.

Shelley said, “I’m ecstatic to be exhibiting my artwork in my local county. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful Shropshire countryside that my studio is nestled within, and so there is no better backdrop to display them than right in the heart of it”.

The exhibition was launched on 2nd December and will run until 28th February 2023.

“With nature and detail being my predominant focus, I love to watch the light at play on the trees and the fields, and capture these scenes in my sketchbook or perhaps collect a leaf or some other treasure”, Shelley continued.

“Then I spend time in my studio bringing these moments together, before deciding which print process best captures the image’s wholeness and beauty. And what a delight that now these pieces will be available to view by many in the wonderful Ironbridge Fine Arts gallery.”

Sarah Morris, Creative Director at Ironbridge Fine Arts and Framing Limited, added, “We’re incredibly excited to host Shelley’s collection, and do hope that this is an opportunity for new visitors to discover and fall in love with Little Black Mare, and its limited edition pieces.

“Alongside Shelley, we also have a number of other fantastic local artists exhibiting this winter including Jenny Gunning, Dave Gunning, James Millichamp, Liz Gunning, Helen Arthur, Paul Gooderham, Liz Simmons, Greg Anston, Eric Gaskell, Karen O’Neil, Diana Wayne, Gillian Stokes, Rob Pountney, Janet Jordan, and Geraldine McGloughlin”.
