Parking News

Shropshire Council’s new parking strategy aims to recognise that “parking plays an important role in supporting the economic viability of Shropshire’s towns for shopping and leisure activities.” With that in mind, parking fees in Bridgnorth on Saturdays are set to be reduced to make the town more competitive with neighbouring towns such as Kidderminster.

However, Shropshire Council has also proposed to close the Leisure Centre car park to users during weekday evenings, and all day at weekends, which many leisure centre users and townsfolk are concerned will make the Leisure Centre potentially less “economically viable.” At a well-attended public meeting in January the council decided to review the plans.
