Serving up the style for summer

A historic home on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border is celebrating summer in style by serving up a mouth-watering Sunday lunch offer.

Weston Park, at Weston-under-Lizard, is throwing open its stunning Victorian Orangery for families and friends to dine out with an extra dash of opulence this August.

Head chef Anna Moore (pictured) has created a delicious three-course menu featuring the best locally-sourced ingredients as well as products from the estate’s own walled garden for the summer celebration.

Guests are being invited to enjoy a glass of champagne in the fabulous grounds before taking their seats in the Orangery which overlooks the Italian garden.

Main courses include slow-roasted sirloin of Shropshire beef with rosemary Yorkshire pudding, herb-crusted pork loin with pancetta wrapped apricot stuffing, baked cod and a sumptuous mixed-bean stuffed marrow.

All dishes are served with home grown buttered greens and seasonal vegetables from the Walled Garden.

Starters include hand-picked crab cakes and a smoked chicken dish served with parmesan croutes, cos lettuce, and anchovy dressing, while desserts range from a glazed strawberry cheesecake to a signature cheeseboard.

Andrea Webster, Weston Park’s marketing manager, said the lunches offered families and friends the chance to get together and celebrate a special occasion – or just being together – in real style.

“Our Orangery is a truly beautiful venue and is at its absolute peak in the summer. If you love the lifestyle portrayed on TV by Bridgerton, then you will adore this.

“These celebratory Sunday lunches will provide memories to treasure for years to come and are the perfect opportunity to get together with family and friends, whether it’s a special celebration or just a long overdue catch up. And what better way to get ready for lunch than enjoying a glass of champagne in the gardens before heading in to eat?”
