Bridgnorth’s match winners

Tennis Club

Bridgnorth Tennis Club have experienced a summer season like no other with new members, a senior national winner, Junior LTA tournament winners and senior doubles wins across the board.

The season kicked off with a successful open day featuring free tennis and a barbecue – coach Holly Mowling and Jo Fowler (pictured) were on hand to join in the fun. In competitive events, Holly won both the over-35 singles and doubles British Open Clay Court Tennis Championships, while Bridgnorth’s ladies have become one of the top 16 teams in the UK in the National Club League thanks to Holly Mowling, Jo Fowler, Chloe Hughes and Immie Cowper.

The junior division have also been busy, with Matt Hunt and Alistar Pay winning the LTA U18 doubles tournament and Caitlin Belcher and Chloe Hunt beating their Telford rivals in the Aegon Tennis league 2-1.

Saturday sessions start again in September – visit the club’s Facebook page, follow at @btcfuntennis or see bridgnorthtennis.co.uk to find out what’s happening.
