Telford’s International Centre will host a glittering finals night on November 3, when Britain’s legendary ski-jumper, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards will be the guest of honour at the Energize Awards. The sporting awards, now in their 10th year, are an opportunity for local people and organisations to be celebrated for their passion, dedication and commitment. There are awards to celebrate coaches, volunteers, community clubs, and local employers who are supporting their workforce to be more active. This year there are new categories recognising schools and education centres.

Chris Child, chief executive of Energize, says, “The awards have become firmly established over the past decade as the ‘Oscars’ of community sport in our area, and have grown steadily every year. Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin are home to a number of very talented people who deserve recognition for their achievements.”
