Classical quartet to perform in Shropshire

One of the UK’s finest classical musical ensembles will perform in Shropshire this month.

The Dante Quartet (pictured) is known for its imaginative programming and impassioned performances.

Founded in 1995, its name was chosen to reflect the idea of an epic journey, and the group has since been honoured with the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Chamber Music and has also received international accolades for its recordings.

The Shropshire Music Trust concert will include work by Britten, Shostakovich and Brahms and will take place on February 23 from 3pm at Maidment Auditorium, Shrewsbury School.

Zoë Beyers and Ian Watson feature on violin, Carole Ella on viola and Richard Jenkinson on cello.
