This summer sees Ironbridge Fine Arts present the 2026 Printmaking Competition Exhibition, now in its fourth year. The exhibition showcases work from some of the most exciting contemporary printmakers from around the world, celebrating creativity, skill, and innovation in the medium.
Last year, more than 750 entries were received, with more than 350 artists selected to exhibit.
“Every year, I am amazed by the imagination and dedication we see,” says organiser Sarah Morris, “Printmaking is endlessly diverse, and this exhibition celebrates Printmakers pushing boundaries and sharing their vision globally.”
The exhibition showcases a wide range of techniques, from intricate etchings and traditional lino cuts to bold screen prints, lithography, and playful experimental works.
The judging panel brings together a mix of experience and fresh perspective, including Master Printmakers Jenny and Dave Gunning , Professor of Art History Brendan Flynn, and guest judges comedian Greg Davies, 2026 Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year Chloe Barnes, and 2026 BBC1 Interior Design Masters winner John Cooper. Brendan Flynn explains, “We’re looking for originality, technical skill, and work that surprises us, and every year, the standard just keeps climbing.”
Opening on 4 July with a Private View and Prize Ceremony, the exhibition offers live demonstrations, artist talks, and the chance to meet the printmakers. It runs until 26 September, featuring works that range from quietly detailed studies to bold, graphic statements that push the limits of printmaking.
