Broseley gardeners celebrate

Broseley in Bloom’s competitions again inspired the town’s keen gardeners to create some outstanding displays, with judging taking place in July. This year’s judges were Ironbridge-based Sue Halford and Pam Sheldon, both of whom have a lifetime of gardening experience – and who braved the elements to visit each of the entries.

Chris Knight picked up the award for Best Garden, Bob McDonough won Best Frontage and The Albion’s colourful floral display earned it the title of Best Business.
As well as judging on overall effect and plant health and maintenance, the judges also took into account factors such as the varied positioning of plants, and whether the displays attracted bees, butterflies and birds.

Chair Carol Cooper said, “I’d like to thank the judges for their time and I feel sure entrants appreciated the individual feedback.”
