Rifles steam on

The Salop Steam Engine Society’s 2019 Rally takes place at Onslow Park Shrewsbury on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August, and one of the highlights will be the involvement of 8 Rifles, a Light Role Infantry Reserve.

Edward Goddard, chair of the County of Salop Steam Engine Society said, “We are delighted we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. We are really excited that this will mean the local 8 Rifles Light Infantry Reserve will join us to provide an Exhibitor stand and provide exciting and interesting activities for families.”

This year there will be over 1,000 exhibits, including historic military vehicles, classic bikes and vintage tractors and vintage fairground organs. For details see shrewsburysteamrally.co.uk.
