Gold for Jake

Jake Fretwell, who trains with Northgate Swimming Club, recently competed in the Midlands Championships held in Coventry winning Gold medals in both the 50m freestyle and the 100m freestyle. His times for these events were 28.68 seconds for the 50m and 1.03.38 seconds in the 100m.
This has crowned him the double Midlands freestyle champion. During this event he also won a bronze medal in the 100m backstroke event.

Jake said, “I love to swim, the team I train with and my coach’s support and guidance at these events is amazing. I’m happiest in the water. I hope to make the Nationals next year as I’m too young this year but I’ve got a year ahead of me to train. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this far… I hope to keep making you all proud!”
