Closing prayers

One of Bridgnorth’s best-loved places of worship hosted its final service on Wednesday 29 September. St Leonard’s Church will no longer operate as a place of worship, as the funds required to carry out essential repairs cannot be found. The service was led by the Bishop of Hereford. The church has had an eventful history; a skirmish took place in the churchyard during the Civil War, and the building was almost hit by a bomb during WWII.
