Buildwas Players raise £1000

The Buildwas Players are pleased to announce they raised a total of £1,000 from their recent panto ‘Ali Baba & The 40 Thieves’, which was shared between The Telford Community First Responders (TCFR) & The Leighton Church Organ Restoration Fund. They presented the cheques to both organisations when the Telford First Responders came to give free 1st Aid Training to the community in Buildwas Village Hall.

Telford First Responders are volunteers who attend 999 calls on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service, where they can arrive first or assist the ambulance crew. They have recently purchased a 4×4 response vehicle (which they’ve nicknamed ‘The Beast’) so require funding to kit out the vehicle with storage boxes for their life saving equipment. The Leighton Church organ was built by a renowned Worcester organ builder but is in need of restoration with a repair bill of ~£11,000.
