Telford & Wrekin Council are looking for photographs that show the spectacular beauty of the borough’s trees during its most magical season – autumn. With an abundance of ancient semi-natural woodlands and estate trees, there are numerous places to capture the dazzling display of colour of the season.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes said, “The trees in our borough help set us apart from other areas, and they really come into their own in autumn. The colours of the leaves as they get ready to fall are stunning. This is the best time to go for a stroll in one of our woodlands or parks and I am very much looking forward to see how people capture the magic of the season.”
All people need to do is get out and be inspired by the changing colours of the leaves that blaze with shades of yellow, orange and red. Photos need to be shared in the Pride in Our Community Facebook Group – add the hashtag #autumntreescompetition and where the photo was taken, such as #TelfordTownPark. Deadline for entries is Friday 22 November. The winner will be awarded a tree to plant in a choice of locations for the public to enjoy.
