County’s vegan treats

The Shropshire Veggies and Vegans group are again hosting their annual vegan fair for the fifth year running – and organisers hope this is going to be the biggest yet.

The fair, which is free to enter, is on Saturday 8 June from 10am to 4pm at the Buttermarket in Howard Street, Shrewsbury. There will be over 50 stalls including Zainz Catering with their vegan curries and samosas and local business the May Bakery. Other stalls will serve everything from pizza to pies and cupcakes to cookies, as well as food to take home – vegan cheese, raw foods and sweet treats.

Organiser Michelle D’Arcy Jewell also runs the Vegan Hub in Wellington Market. She says, “There’s more interest in being vegan than ever, and this fair gives people the opportunity to see some of the amazing vegan products available as well as being able to get advice about going vegan or moving towards a vegan lifestyle. We encourage anyone to come along and browse around the stalls… you might be surprised at what is on offer!”

The first 100 people will receive a goodie bag; to find out more, visit shropveg.org.uk or email admin@shropveg.org.uk.
