Prestfelde celebrates

Pupils from Prestfelde Prep School in Shrewsbury are celebrating having claimed the Shropshire U11 Cricket crown with a convincing display that saw them go through the county competition unbeaten. They won all three of their pool matches held at Moor Park School in Ludlow, beating the hosts Packwood Haugh and guests Abberley School. They now go on to represent Shropshire in the regional finals at Shrewsbury School in June. There were further celebrations for older students as well; with 26 pupils achieving more than 13 scholarships at a number of high-profile secondary schools and colleges. The youngsters impressed across a range of academic, music, art and sporting scholarships, winning places at Shrewsbury School, Moreton Hall, Malvern College, Concord College, Oakham School and Wrekin College. Head of Prestfelde Fiona Orchard said, “These results are very much deserved; working towards a scholarship is a lot of extra commitment on top of their schoolwork and we are delighted that so many have made it to their chosen schools.”
