Connie’s day at the palace

Well known former mayor, Connie Baines received an MBE from The Princess Royal for ‘services to the community of Bridgnorth’ in March. Connie has served on the Bridgnorth Town Council for 14 years and been mayor twice, and is currently deputy mayor elect. Drawing on her experience as a former police officer, she has also been intensely involved in the local neighbourhood watch, Crucial Crew, Bridgnorth CCTV and the Bridgnorth and District Crime Prevention Panel.

Connie said it was a ‘big surprise, and great honour’ to learn of the MBE, very difficult to choose who should accompany her, and that she thoroughly enjoyed her day, which included afternoon tea at The Savoy.
