Transformed bar and restaurant reopens

The Astbury Resort, near Bridgnorth, has re-opened its doors to Montgomery’s Bar & Restaurant, after a major renovation.

The restaurant and bar have been completely transformed since the site was acquired by its new owners in 2020. Extensive renovations have taken place, incorporating original features such as intricate ceiling roses and coving, with luxurious textures and bold teal colours, to create a warm and relaxing environment.

With all day dining from Wednesday through to Saturday, and a Sunday roast menu, Montgomery’s offers classic British dishes complemented by cuisine inspired from around the world. Choose from lunchtime light bites through to refined evening meals including herb crusted loin of lamb and seasonal desserts such as lime and cucumber posset, with a sharp gin sorbet or a classic raspberry crème brûlée.

Montgomery’s is also offering Afternoon Teas, with all its decadent sweet treats made in-house. The Bar is open for guests to enjoy everything from a mid-morning cappuccino through to a carefully-curated cocktail from Head Bartender, Michael.

Aside from well-known spirits, the bar is stocked with tipples from local spirit distilleries such as Wild Jac at Bewdley. The extensive wine list has been designed to complement the menu, with pairing very much part of the experience of dining in Montgomery’s.

Montgomery’s aims to source its ingredients from as close as possible, with meat coming from Beaman’s & Sons, just 3 miles away, and bread from Swifts Bakery in Cleobury Mortimer. Taking pride in supporting local, Montgomery’s vows to continuously source new local suppliers.

General Manager of The Astbury Resort,  Jamie Hammond, says, “Montgomery’s provides a beautiful setting with extraordinary views across the gold course’s 18th hole, with first class service. No matter whether you’re joining us for a coffee or a special occasion, the Montgomery’s team has a wealth of experience, led by our Food and Beverage Manager Craig, who will take care of you from the moment you arrive. We look forward to being part of the local community, your new ‘local’ and a place where everyone feels welcome.”
