Local artists to stage new exhibition

Much Wenlock is set to host a range of striking artwork. From Friday October 4 until Monday  October 28, local artists Louise Southan and Ben Wiseman will present an exhibition at the historic Guildhall.

Louise and Ben are friends and creatives inspired by artistic movements such as expressionism and impressionism. They have worked together for the last three years and this is their third joint exhibition.

Louise said: “We are looking forward to the exhibition and I hope visitors will enjoy our selection of art. We very much like chatting to people when they come to view our artwork. I enjoy the immediacy of watercolour, but also enjoy working in acrylic and oil paints. I have been an artist for over 25 years, teaching adult students locally, creating my own artwork and taking commissions.”

Ben said: “We have paintings to suit all budgets and we produce work in varying sizes. Our subjects include abstracts, local landscapes, wildlife and flowers. I love the expression and impasto I can create with oils, but I also work in acrylic and mixed media.”

CAPTION: Louise and Ben put the finishing touches to some the paintings for the exhibition.
