What the Dickens is going on in Pattingham?

Pattingham Drama Group’s December production this year is, The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Towns Women’s Guild Dramatic Society’s ‘rather silly’ version of ‘A Christmas Carol, by David McGillivray & Walter Zerline Jnr.

In a merry mood, the ladies of the Dramatic Society mount another assault on the classics with their stage version of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. They enthusiastically portray a dizzy array of characters from the Dickensian favourite (and a few which aren’t), while bravely contending with an intrusive PA system.

This hilariously disastrous attempt at Dickens’ classic results in chaotic misadventures, unexpected mishaps, and uproarious laughter as everything that can go wrong, does. Wrong sound effects, misplaced props and actors who often don’t know the exact lines, or sometimes know the right lines but in the wrong place, are the hallmark of the Farndale ladies as they plough on boldly and in the process, come hell, high water or falling sets, relate the story of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim in a way you have never have seen before. This hilarious comedy classic from Pattingham Drama Group promises to put a smile on your face.

Venue is Pattingham Village Hall from 3-6 December at 7.30 nightly. Tickets at £12 are available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/pattingham-drama or call 0333-666-4466.
