Town’s history in spotlight

History will be in the spotlight for the fourth annual Bridgnorth History Week. A series of events organised by Bridgnorth Library will take place from May 14th – 21st. The week will include guided walks around the town, talks by local authors and advice on family history research, and researching the history of your home.

One of the highlights of the week will be a talk by author Jane Killick. Her book ‘Talking with Past Hours’ looks at the colourful characters from Bridgnorth’s Victorian past, through the diary of clergyman William Fletcher. Rawden Parslow, Principal librarian for South Shropshire said: “There is such a strong interest in the local history of Bridgnorth; tickets are selling quickly for many of the events.” For more information or tickets visit Bridgnorth Library or call01746 763358.
