Much Wenlock Festival

The Much Wenlock Festival runs from June 2 to 24 and offers a superb programme of events for everyone.

The Shropshire Drama Company will present Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor from June 11 to 16, there will be a special festival fair on June 2 and on June 3 Jubilee celebrations take place on Church Green.

The Tom Sabin Commemorative Cycle ride comes to the town on June 9, as cyclists on this 100 mile event from Coventry arrive in Wenlock to celebrate a Wenlock Olympian from the 1870s, plus there will be concerts, a fringe festival and much more.

One of the festival highlights will be Secrets and Inspirations, an evening of prose, poetry and music presented by a group of friends who are all familiar faces from stage, television and film, including Gabrielle Drake and John Challis.
