The achievements of children and young people in care have been celebrated at a special awards ceremony. Over 150 children and young people who are or were in care attended the ceremony in Telford.

Children and young people were recognised in a range of categories including Personal Achievement; Being Involved; Making Positive Changes; Helping Others; and Leisure, Art and Educational Achievement. There was also a Best Shot award and the Hot Shot award for outstanding achievement.

Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families said, “This is a time to acknowledge that, regardless of circumstances, these children and young people work hard, think of others, get involved and achieve great things. It’s our opportunity to acknowledge this and to congratulate them.”
