Full planning and listed buildings consent has now been granted for Bishop Percy’s house on the Cartway, Bridgnorth. The iconic building is one of the oldest in town with parts pre-dating 1508.
The former home of the Bridgnorth Boys’ Club, the black-and-white timbered building has been empty for a number of years, and the plans will see new life breathed into it as a tearoom with six holiday lets. Matt Spinks of Johnson Design Partnership said, “It’s an exciting way to use such a historic building, giving visitors to our town the unique chance to stay in one of its famous landmarks. There have already been enquiries into these historic lets by visitors from the USA.”
