Railway hits jackpot

The Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust has succeeded in meeting a £1 million fundraising challenge well ahead of schedule and The Heritage Lottery Fund has pledged to match every pound donated, which will contribute towards an endowment fund to safeguard the future of the SVR. Chair of the SVR Charitable Trust Hugh McQuade said, “We’ve been inspired by the passion and generosity of our supporters. We’re now in a position to make a real commitment to the future of the railway, to help fund the essential maintenance and restoration work on its rolling stock and infrastructure in the years to come.”
